 Admission Requirements into 5-Year programmes

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

5 credits in Arts related subjects at WASCE/GCE/SSCE or equivalent qualification including English Language, at not more than 2 sittings. A pass in Mathematics is required for Philosophy while a credit in Literature in English is required for English Language. For Mass Communication, 5 credits including English Language and Social Sciences subjects and a pass in Mathematics.

 Admission Requirements into 4-Year Programmes

In addition to 5-year Programmes admission requirements and a satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination candidates must have:

i.             HSC/GCE A/L in at least two relevant subjects OR

Admission Requirements into Diploma Programme

i.                   Satisfactory Performance at the qualifying examinations

ii.                 4 credits at WASCE/GCE O/L SSCE at not more than 2 sittings including English Language (and Bible knowledge or Islamic/Arabic Studies for Religions Studies), OR

iii.              4 Merit passes at Teachers’ Grade II at not more than two sittings including English Language.

iv.                Mature candidates of not less than 30 years with at least 3 credit passes for international Relation, Public Relation, Tourism and Church Administration with 5 years relevant experience may be considered.

v.                  Candidates for Diploma in Performing Arts must have at least 3 Credit passes including English Language at not more than 2 sittings.

vi.                Mature candidates with at least 5 years working experience and not less than 30 years of age with three (3) Credit passes may be considered.

vii.             The four (4) credits for International Relations must include History, Government or Economics.

Admission Requirements into 4 (i) above

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examinations.

4 Credit/Merit passes including English Language at WASCE/GCE O’L/SSCE/Teachers’ Grade II Certificate at not more than two (2) sittings. Mature candidates of not less than 25 years with at least 5 years working experience and at least 2 Credit/ Merit passes and 2 Ordinary Passes may be considered.

Admission Requirements into 4 (ii) and (iii) above

i.                   Satisfactory performance at qualifying examination.

ii.                4 credits in WASCE/GCE/SSCE or Credit/ Merit Passes in Teacher’s Grade II Certificate at not more than 2 sittings including Bible Knowledge or Islamic / Arabic Studies and a pass in English Language.

iii.             Tawjihiyyah/Thanawiyyah Certificate with Jayyid Jidan (Very Good) grade in at least 4 subjects at not more than 2 sittings including English Language from a recognized school of Arabic and Islamic Studies may be considered.

iv.              Mature candidates of not less than 25 years of age with 5 years working experience in a related field may be considered.

B.                FACULTY OF LAW

  1. TWO–YEAR  DIPLOMA IN LAW PROGRAMME

i.   Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examinations.

ii.  5 credits at WASCE/GCE O’L/SSCE at not more than 2 settings   including English Language and any other four (4) subjects.

iii. Mature candidates of not less than 30 years of age with 4 credits including English Language with at least five years working experience at the Managerial or similar level may be considered.

  1. ONE YEAR DIPLOMA IN SHIPPING AND ADMIRALITY LAW

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination, and any of the following qualifications:

i.                   4 credits at WASCE/GCE O’L/SSCE including English Language.

ii.                 4 credits at WASCE/GCE O’L/SSCE including English Language and one pass at GCE A/L.

iii.              3 credits at WASCE/GCE O’L/ SSCE. Two passes at GCE A/L.

iv.                Mature candidates of 35 years of age with ten (10) years working experience at Managerial level and proof of secondary education background.

General Admission Requirements – 5- Year Programmes

i.                   Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examinations.

ii.                 5 credits at WASCE/ GCE O’L/ SSCE at not more than 2 settings in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural science, Geography or Economics, Statistics and Technical Drawing

iii.              For combined honours courses, such as computer/ Economics, at least, a credit pass is required in any of the following subjects: Accounting Economics and Commerce, Further Mathematics and Statistics relevant to the candidates’ choice of course.

iv.                Mature candidates with 10 years cognate working experience may have added advantage.

4-Year Programmes

In addition to 5-year programme requirements candidates must possess:

i.   2 relevant subject at HSC/GCE (A’LEVEL) or

ii.  OND or HND/NCE (credit/merit) in relevant discipline or

iii. Diploma in Data Processing of Olabisi Onabanjo University with Upper credit or other equivalent Diploma in  Data Processing or Computer Engineering or Computer Studies from a recognized University/Higher Institution.

WAIVER:     English at higher level may be considered as surrogate to O/L English Language.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES (Weekday only)

Data Processing – (one academic session)

Admission Requirements

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

At least 4 credit in WASCE/GCE/0’L/SSCE at not more than two sittings including Mathematics and a pass in English Language.

Admission Requirements

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

4 credits in WASCE/GCE/0’L/SSCE at not more than two sittings including 2 Science subjects with at least a pass in English Language and Mathematics.

Mature Candidates

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

Candidates with passes at WASCE/GCE O’L/SSCE NECO who are not less than 30 years with at least 5-10 years cognate working experience may have an added advantage.

Five (5) credits at WASCE/GCEO’L/SSCE/NEBTEB/NECO at more than two sitting in the following subjects:

Agricultural Science, Home Economic, Physics, Geography, Accounting, Chemistry, Food & Nutrition and Biology including English Language and Mathematics. Merit passes in Teacher’s Grade II Certificate at more than 2 sittings including English Language, Mathematics or Arithmetic process, However, Chemistry and Physics are not compulsory for candidates applying for B Sc. (Cooperative and Business Management)

6 Year Programme

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

Credits passes are required in Chemistry or Food and Nutrition and Biology or Agricultural sciences.

5 Year Agric Programme

In addition to the general requirements and the 6 – year programme admission requirements, candidates must have one of the following.

a.     Passes at HSC/GCE (A/L) in 2 subjects relevant to Agriculture or cooperative Business Management.

b.     Merit passes at in Agric. Double major (NCE) or with 2 teaching subjects including Agriculture and Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics Integrated science. Merit passes in NCE General English and use of English at OND are acceptable in lieu of WASEC/GCE O’L Credit passes while Merit in Teachers’ Grade II Mathematics is also acceptable in lieu of WASCE/GCE credit.

c.      OND (Credit or equivalent) in Agriculture, Animal Health, Soil Conservation, Horticulture, Forestry, Wildlife Management, Fisheries, Agric. Engineering or any other relevant Engineering field, Diploma in Cooperative or any other Management Sciences.

3-YEAR PROGRAMME

In addition to general and the 5-year programme admission requirements, candidates must have HND (credit) in Agric, Animal Health, Crop Production, Crop Protection, Horticulture, Soil Conservation, Agric Management and Extension, Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife, Agricultural Engineering or other Engineering field or Diploma in Cooperatives.

B.      i.       B.Sc. Home and Hotel Management Programme

          ii.      B.Sc. Cooperative and Business Management

General Admission Requirements

Five (5) credits at WASC/GCE/O/L/SSCE at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates must have 5 credit passes from approved Institutions.

5-Year Programme

Candidates must have 5 credit passes in Chemistry or Food and Nutrition and Biology or Home Economics/Management/Agricultural Science.

4-year programme

In addition to the general requirements and the 5 years programme admission requirements, candidates must posses any of the following:

i.   Passes in 2 relevant subjects at HSC/GCE A’ Level.  

ii.  Merit passes at NCE Home Economics (double major) or with 2 teaching subjects including Home Economics and Chemistry/Food and Nutrition/Mathematics/ Physics/Integrated Science.  Merit passes in NCE General English OND or HND Use of English are acceptable in lieu of WACE/GCE O’L/SSCE credit.  While merit passes in Teachers’ grade II Mathematics is also acceptable in lieu of WASCE/GCE O’L/SSCE.

iii. OND (Credit in Home Science/Economics/Mathematics.  Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Catering and Hotel Management, Food Technology, Textile Technology, Public Health/Health Technology or Nursing Certificates

3-Year Programme

In addition to the general requirements and 5 year programme admission requirement, candidates must have HND (Credit) in Home Science/Economics/Management/Human Nutrition, dietetics/Catering and Hotel Management.  Food Technology, Textile Technology, Public Health/Health Technology or Nursing Certificates.

     Mature Candidates

Candidates not less than 35 years old with at least 5 years cognate working experience plus NCE, OND or HND in relevant disciplines and O/L credit in English Language and Mathematics may be a Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

At least 4 credit in WASCE/GCE/0’L/SSCE at not more than two sittings including Mathematics and a pass in English Language.

Admitted after a successful oral interview into both B. Agric and B.Sc. Programmes.

E.                FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

1.       DEGREE PROGRAMME

5-Year Degree Programme at Main campus and Ijebu-Ode (weekend)

a.  B.Sc. Economics

General Admission Requirements

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examinations.

5 Credit passes at WASCE/GCE O/L or SSCE or Merit passes in Teachers’ Grade II, at not more than 2 sitting including English Language and Mathematics.

C       Four-Year Degree Programme

B.Sc. Economics

In addition to general entry requirements, a minimum of 2 passes at related (Advanced Level) subjects which must include Economics or minimum of a Lower credit pass in related National Diploma courses.

B.Sc. Purchasing and Supply Management

In addition to general entry requirements, a minimum of Lower credit pass in National Diploma Purchasing and Supply Management. Pass in Foundation Examination of Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management or its equivalent in related professional disciplines. Mature candidates of not less than 35 years old and with a minimum of ten (10) years cognate and statistics/Quantitives Techniques will be accepted in lieu of a pass in English Language and Mathematics respectively.

3–Year Degree Programme in Purchasing and Supply Management

i.                   In addition to general entry requirements, candidate must posses HND in Purchasing and Supply Management, B.Sc. Degree in related discipline with working experience in purchasing and supply related organizations.

ii.                 Mature candidates of not les than 35 years of age with a minimum of 10 years working experience having obtained 5 credits at O ’Level including a pass in English language or mathematics and a credit in the other in addition to HND and or C.I.P.S.M may also be considered after interview.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

DIPLOMA PROGRAMME IN PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT

(2-YEAR DURATION)

Admission Requirement

Satisfactory performance at qualifying examination, Four(4) credits in WASC/GCE/SSCE/Grade II Certificate at not more than two (2) sittings including either credits in English or mathematics and pass in the other.

DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT SCIENCES (DMS)

Diploma in Management Science with options in the following areas:

(i)                 Economics

Admissions Requirement

Satisfactory performance at qualifying examination.

Students with five (5) credits in relevant subjects including English and mathematics in not more than two sittings. Those with D7 in Mathematics or English may be considered but will be expected to make up for this deficiency before admission into Degree programme of the University.

The Faculty also accepts holders of NABTEB and C & G Certificates into the Degree and Diploma Programmes in Transport Planning and Management.

 4-year B.Sc. Transport planning and management Abusi Annexe and Main Campus

In addition to general entry requirements 2 passes at GCE A/L in related combination or at least Merit pass at NCE in any two teaching subjects or Diploma (Lower credit) of Olabisi Onabanjo University or National Diploma Certificate in relevant disciplines such as Engineering Estate Management, Surveying, Transport, Computer Science, Environmental Management, Public Administration and other relevant disciplines as may be approved by Senate. Mature candidates of not less than 35 years of age with 5 O’ Level credits and 5 years cognate working experience or professional qualification may posses pass in English Language or Mathematics.

4-year BSc. Industrial and Labour Relations

          Abusi Annexe and Main Campus

In addition to general entry requirements, candidates must have at least Lower Credit in Diploma in Industrial and Labour Relations, Business Administration General/Marketing/Office/Personnel Management option) or National Certificate of Education, National Diploma (Lower Credit) in relevant discipline.

     B.Sc Public Administration

     Administration Requirements:

i. 5-year programme

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

Candidates are expected to have obtained at least O’ Level, WASC/GCE or NECO credit passes at not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects. In addition, candidates for Investigative General and Forensic Studies must have credit in Biology any other social science subject to make five credits.

ii.          4 – Year Programme

   In addition to general entry requirements in (1) above, candidates must have passed at least Government or History and any other subject in the GCE A/Level or HSC examinations or at least merits in NCE at not more than two sittings in subjects including Government/Political Science or OND, or equivalent Diploma in Public Administration and Local Government, Law, Public Relations or General Management or other related disciplines from a recognized institution with a grade not lower than the equivalent of Lower Credit.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

(a)               Transport Planning and Management

(Weekday and weekend)

Satisfactory performance at qualifying examination. 4 credit passes at WASCE/GCE/O’ Level/SSCE/Grade II at not more than 2 sittings including English language or Mathematics and a pass in the other or mature candidates of 25years with at least 5 years cognate working experience and at least 3 credits.

Mature candidates with Chartered Institute of Transport Advanced Diploma are accepted for 4-year programmes.

(b)              Public Administration Main Campus, Ago-Iwoye (Weekend)

Admission Requirements

(i)                 Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

(ii)              Candidates are expected to have obtained a minimum of four WASC/GCE or NECO credit passes at not more than two sittings. This must include English language or Mathematics. A minimum of D8 in English language or Mathematics is required.

(iii)            Mature candidates who are not less than 25 years with a minimum of five years working experience but do not posses the basic qualifications as stated in (i) above may be considered for admission.

Admission Requirements

A.    5-year Degree Programmes

Satisfactory performance at qualifying examination. 5 Credits/Merit passes at

WASCE/GCE/O’L/SSCE/NABTEB/Grade II certificate in not more than 2 sittings including English Language for all courses, and Mathematics or Statistics for Science, the Social Sciences and Management Sciences. Associate Certificate [ACE] holders with at least Merit passes may be considered for admission.

5-Year Degree Programmes for Mature Candidates

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

3 credit passes at WASCE, SSCE, Grade II, ACE, NABTEB and any other related professional certificates such as NCE, OND, RNCE and other professional certificates from any recognized institution. In addition, candidates above 35 years and possess a minimum o]f 5 years working experience will have added advantage.

B.    4-Year Degree Programmes

Satisfactory performance at qualifying examination.

5 Credits/Merit Passes at WASCE/GCE/O’L/SSCE/NABTEB Grade II certificate at not more than 2 sittings including English language for all courses, and Mathematics or Statistics for Science, the Social Sciences and Management Sciences Programmes. In addition, 2 passes at HSC or GCE. A/Level or Merit Passes at NCE, Diploma in Physics and Health Education. Credit at OND in relevant courses, or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent professional qualification. A merit pass in General English Language at NCE level may be accepted in lieu of O’Level English Language. Also, Merit passes in Mathematics or Statistics is accepted in lieu of O’Level Mathematics.

C.      5-Year Degree Programme in [r] and (s)

          Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

5 Credits/Merit passes at ASCE/GCE/O’L/SSCE/NABTEB/Grade II Certificate at not more than 2 sittings including English Language and Mathematics. A pass in Mathematics is required for Bachelor of Secretarial Administration while a credit pass in Mathematics or Statistics is required for Bachelor of Business Education.

H.      INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION

          DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (2 YEARS)

a.     Diploma in Industrial and Labour Relations

b.     Diploma in Library and Information Science

c.      Diploma in Environmental studies and Management.

d.     Diploma in Nursery and Primary Education

e.     Diploma in School Management and Proprietorship.

Admission Requirements

Satisfactory performance at the qualifying examination.

For all programmes, four (4) credits at WASC, SSCE, NECO or Grade II certificate, plus at least a pass in English language at not more than two sittings would be required.

In addition, for candidates in Environmental Studies and Management, two (2) of the four (4) credits must also be in the Science subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Health Science and Agricultural Science.

Mature candidates would be admitted into the Diploma in Library and Information Science. Such candidates who must be working in Libraries or relevant organizations must have a minimum of five years cognate experience. They should also be sponsored by their employers and be able to prove that they can benefit from the course.

H       FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCE

i.                   B.Sc. Degree in Anatomy

·        Log in to the OOUCESAP Website: www.ooucesap.com

·        Click on the “Apply now”, read the instructions, type in your full names and select either the Diploma or Degree option and click Submit.

·        You can then print out the form that is generated.

·        Submit completed form to OOU CESAP Admission office (Room 205) with a bank draft of Five Thousand Five Hundred Naira for both Degree and Diploma.

(v)                FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES – MAIN CAMPUS (P/S)

(vi)             FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES – MINI CAMPUS

B.                DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

The date and venue of the qualifying examination will be announced later.

(i)                 FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES – MAIN CAMPUS

(ii)              COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES – MINI CAMPUS

(iii)            FACULTY OF SCIENCE – MINI CAMPUS

(iv)             FACULTY OF ARTS – ABUSI ODUMARE, IJEBU-IGBO

·        YOU ARE EXPECTED TO COME TO THE EXAMINATION HALL WITH YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT CARD AND YOUR PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH.

·        CANDIDATES IN FACULTY OF EDUCATION AND DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES IN OTHER FACULTIES ARE NOT EXPECTED TO WRITE THE EXAMINATION.
